FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much does it cost?
There is a one off £20 enrolment fee.
Fees are £3.90 per 30 minute lesson. Our fees are charged termly and paid over 4months by direct debit.
For example: two classes a week is £7.80 a week. If the term is a 12 week term, the total amount would be £91.20 a term and therefore £22.80 a month.
What if my child is shy?
All of our teachers are very experienced and used to bringing children out of their shells. We will work alongside parent and child to make sure that our approach suits their needs. We often employ a buddy system with other students or student helpers within the class.
Does it matter if I'm new to dancing?
Nope! We like to accommodate everyone regardless of age or experience. Generally, our classes are grouped based on ability but if you're 12 and never danced before, don't worry, you won't be in a class of 5 year olds!
When can I move up?
Our classes are mostly based on ability rather than age. As a result of this, your child's class will change once they have completed the relevant exams, for example, to move from Infants to Juniors students need to have taken all of their Preparatory exams.
When can I get started?
Right away! You can sign up for a 2-week trial for just £20 and start classes as soon as your booking has been processed.
When will I take exams?
Teachers are continually assessing their students whilst they are learning exam work in class. Students will only be entered once they have shown that they are confident with the work. We have multiple exam sessions throughout the year so there is always an opportunity to progress.
What do I wear?
We do have our own Evans Academy of Dance uniform, however, we don't expect this to be purchased straight away - we know that children can be fickle! We ask that for your trial you come to class in something comfortable that you can move freely in. We then ask for correct uniform to be purchased after your first half term.
When can I get on stage?
We have a biennial show in which all students get to be a part of. They will learn show routines in each class they take and these will be part of the whole school show.
We also have an annual Presentation Evening, again, all students are invited to present what they have been learning in class to their families and friends. In addition, awards are given for achievement in class.
That's right. Our lessons are taught by teachers who hold qualifications with the IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association).
We love what we do and it shows in our work, and on the faces of our employees.
Dance is for everyone, from those who wish to make a career from performing to those who come for some fun and exercise! We offer exams and performance opportunities for ALL students.
